Mercia Marina, located in South Derbyshire UK, can comfortably accommodate over 630 boats, making the marina one of the largest inland marinas in Europe.
Primarily offering a boat yard and residential mooring opportunities, the marina required a building contractor to deliver their ambitious plans for further expansion, to create retail and shopping opportunities, as well as increased bar and restaurant facilities. The project consisted of a new “Piazza Building” to house shops and offices, along with bar and restaurant facilities. The building’s steelwork frame needed to match the adjacent buildings whilst working around the existing “Bandstand Structure”.
Robinson produced a method of delivering and erecting the structural steelwork frame adjacent and within the working Marina.
