Due to the complex nature of this project the Robinson project team applied the appropriate experience and resource at the design stage and worked closely with the Engineer to ensure the steel frame was installed safely and on programme.
The level of production planning invested in the project enabled Robinson to utilise many of the functions on the drill to reduce labour time and ensure accuracy. This included the milling of service holes and splitting beam sections to form canopy stubs members.
Hollow section steel has a tendency to distort when rolled over certain radius. Robinson pride themselves on managing the expectations of the Client, and so procured one curved column for approval by the Architect prior to purchasing all curved columns required. The highly skilled production workforce enabled this intricate project to be delivered free from defects.
“We at Derwent Valley Construction have engaged Robinson on numerous steel frame projects, and always found that a keen eye to detail and efficient manner in their approach to all projects, is an asset to us and the project as a whole.
We have used them on a mixture of commercial, education and leisure buildings, of which the challenges included architectural style connections/design, extensions to existing buildings and restricted working areas. We would have no hesitation in using Robinson on any of our future projects.”
