A new CHP Biomass Building for Launchbury Ltd

After the successful completion of a new Anaerobic Digestion Plant in Lincolnshire, the Renewables Investment Team from Launchbury Ltd contacted our Sales Director, Edward Gregory, to see if we wanted to help with the construction of a new CHP Biomass Building. Being such an interesting and exciting project, we obviously said yes.

The project was originally intended to be a simple (albeit large) clear span portal frame approximately 35m wide, 60.0m long and 12.5m high to eaves. During the design development phase it became apparent that the building needed to support some of the CHP Boiler equipment, and the design has been altered to enable the frame to carry an 8.0 tonne expansion vessel at the apex.

This project is now well under way, with design and drawing work progressing well. We anticipate around 120 tonnes of hot rolled steelwork, 20 tonnes of cold rolled, 2400m2 of composite roof cladding and 2000m2 of vertical cladding will be used.

Steelwork is due on-site in October and cladding will be added shortly after, to ensure the client can install all their equipment before Christmas.

We will update you with construction photos as soon as we can.
