A new manufacturing headquarters for SGS Engineering

Continuing our successful relationship with Ivygrove Developments (a local Derby developer that has been built over many years), we were tasked with constructing a new manufacturing headquarters for Derby manufacturing success SGS Engineering.

We constructed the steel framework for SGS Engineering’s original premises in 2012. But, due to their continued success, they outgrew these premises and needed a much larger site on the ever popular Westside Park Development on Derby’s ring road.

The new office, workshop and warehouse comprises of a 3 storey office circa 20,000 sq ft, and manufacturing and warehouse area circa 40,000 sq ft.

The steel frame we erected used 195 tonnes of fabricated hot rolled steelwork, 30 tonnes of cold rolled purlins and rails and 330 tonnes of pre-cast concrete hollow core floor units. Due to the complexity of the set out, our in-house engineers assisted in the setting out of the foundations and holding down bolts.

We are proud to say we completed the installation in under 5 weeks, ahead of programme. After helping to get the project off to a flying start we have no doubt that Ivygrove and their management team (as main contractor) will complete the bespoke unit to the clients satisfaction and time-scale.
