Lord Rotherwick contacted us as he needed to replace a derelict, crumbling outside concrete building. He needed more storage facilities for his busy estate and asked us to help him plan, design and build him the steel frame solution that best fit his business needs.
Cornbury Park Estate
Cornbury Park is the family home of the Rotherwick family near Charlbury in Oxfordshire, England. The estate includes 1,700 acres of the most ancient forest in Britain today and is a protected environment for native wildlife, creating a unique habitat in one of the few private forests in England.
Originally a royal hunting lodge, Cornbury Park combines a variety of enterprises from high quality commercial office space for small and medium sized businesses in Oxfordshire, to residential house rentals in the beautiful Cotswold setting of Cornbury Park, as well as private events in the house and grounds, and a limited number of public events.
New storage building replaces crumbling concrete building
Due to the beautiful, serene setting of the Estate, it was imperative we built a steel frame building that was in-keeping with the environment. And we are proud to say we did just that; it’s a lovely looking building that blends in beautifully with the environment and is already proving to be a great asset to the Estate.
This 8,000 square feet building is 7 meters to the eaves with a roof pitch of 12.5° and has 2 meter high concrete panels. It is built with Olive Green Plastisol coated box profile sheets, with steel cladding rails and has a natural grey fibre cement roof.
We will shortly be laying an internal concrete floor and will be installing two external aprons in front of the roller doors.
We are very pleased and proud to say that Lord Rotherwick has been very complimentary about the craftsmanship of his new building and he has been very impressed with everyone’s excellent communication skills; especially to those who sheeted his new building. So a massive thank you to all involved in this exciting project.
